How to search through videos in Type Studio

This is a short little tutorial that explains how to search through your video by using Type Studio.

In short

In this tutorial, you will learn how to find any point in your video without jumping through the video. All you have to do is type the word you are looking for into the search window and you can jump directly to the location.

Create a Type Studio account

Sign up for Type Studio

Upload your video

After logging in with your email and password you will be redirected to the dashboard or project overview. To upload a new video click on the map in the upper left area, which is marked with a plus sign. Now you can either drag a video into the window or select one from your files.

Transcription

Now the automatic transcription of your video starts. This step may take a few minutes. Depending on how large and how long your video file is. Please don’t close your browser tab while we are transcribing.

Search

To search your video click on the magnifying glass and type in the word you are looking for. In the transcript, the searched word will be highlighted now in a salmon color. When you click on it, you will jump to the exact timestamp in the video.
